Light rail brought on board multi-trip tickets

COMMUTERS with MyMulti transport tickets will finally be able to use them on Sydney’s light rail line.
The Transport Minister, Gladys Berejiklian, will announce measures today to incorporate the light rail line into the MyZone ticket structure, an election promise made by the Coalition.
From June 27, commuters who use daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly MyMulti tickets to travel on the bus, train and ferry networks will also be able to use the tickets on the light rail system.

Pensioners will be able to use their pensioner excursion tickets on the line, and Family Funday Sunday tickets will also be eligible for use on the line.
”This is great news for commuters, tourists, pensioners and families,” Ms Berejiklian said.
No budget for Light Rail puts project under a cloud – Greens
Greens MP and transport spokesperson Lee Rhiannon today questioned the government’s commitment to extending light rail in the Inner West following a failure to earmark new funding for a feasibility study in yesterday’s State budget, while pouring $600 million into the controversial CBD metro.
Ms Rhiannon is calling on Premier Rees to publicly commit to the project and allocate specific funding to secure its completion.
The Treasurer failed to answer Ms Rhiannon’s question about Light Rail in Parliament today, instead taking it on notice with a view to providing a written answer at a later stage. “The failure to allocate money in the budget for the light rail study throws doubt on Transport Minister David Campbell’s commitment to the project. Confusion as people expect trams to be extended into Sydney CBD
There is much talk about Metro Sydney and CBD Metro, which has caused a great deal of confusion.
There is little wonder why there is confusion between Metro Light Rail and the NSW Government’s new project.
The company that owns Metro Light Rail is called Metro Transport Sydney. The NSW Government agency responsible for planning, delivering and commissioning the CBD Metro is called Metro Sydney.
MetroTransport Sydney, owners and operators of Metro Light Rail, Sydney’s tram system, has for some time proposed extend light rail from Central to Circular Quay, now the NSW Government is planning to build a subway type rail system from Central to Rozelle and called it Sydney Metro.
